Employee Spotlight: Chelsey

Chelsey began her career as a hairstylist at one of Rochester’s premier salons, where she spent 10 years building relationships and serving clients. She later transitioned into roles in sales, retention, and billing, eventually running her own call center. From there, moving into banking felt like a natural next step, as it allowed her to continue doing what she enjoys most—working with people. She started at a larger financial institution but soon realized she was drawn to the close connections and relationship-focused approach of a community bank, where she could build meaningful partnerships with her customers.

Chelsey says she loves working at Coulee Bank. Her coworkers in Rochester bring joy and lots of laughter to her workday. “I love the holiday party and our Unity Day celebration because it brings everyone together for fun outside the office. It truly makes Coulee Bank a great place to work,” she says.

While her daily focus as a Universal Teller is on our customers, she participates in our Community Involvement Committee and enjoys volunteering. “My favorite volunteer events are bell ringing for the Salvation Army, delivering handwritten Valentine’s Day cards to seniors, and cooking for families at the Ronald McDonald House,” she says.

Outside of Coulee Bank, Chelsey enjoys hanging out with her husband. They love playing darts and canoeing in the summer. She cooks a lot for them; in fact, they rarely go out for meals because she likes being creative in the kitchen. When she isn’t feeling up for coordinating a meal, her go-to dinner is the Marguerita Pizza from Trader Joe’s.

One of her favorite vacations was her honeymoon. This two-week road trip to Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming was an absolute joy. She says, “We didn’t have an itinerary and stayed somewhere new every night. I also got to see where my husband grew up and visit their family’s Farmer’s Market!” One of the most notable stops along their journey was the Garden of the Gods.

Fun Fact about Chelsey: Podcasts are not her thing. She has never listened to a podcast, but she can get behind music. Her go-to music includes The Frey and Counting Crows.

And in the summer, she enjoys gardening outside. Last year, her garden produced enough tomatoes, peppers, and cilantro to create 32 jars of HOT salsa! This year, she plans to include garlic in her garden. In addition to her main garden, she is planting a separate garden for grapes this year, so that she can learn to make wine.

Chelsey, we are so grateful for the fun energy you bring to the office every day. Thank you for the outstanding customer service you provide our customers every day. We wish you continued success in your role at Coulee Bank.
