Employee Spotlight: Cassie Wettleson
Our strength as a community bank comes from the talented individuals who bring their best to work every day. In this month’s Employee Spotlight, we’re proud to introduce you to a team member whose commitment to customer service and collaboration helps make banking personal again. Introducing Cassie Wettleson, Business Banking Assistant, in the La Crosse market.
Wettleson studied Agricultural Business at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, Iowa. She jumped on an opportunity to work in a community bank for an internship to satisfy degree requirements and loved the experience. Over the last several years in banking she learned a variety of skills spanning client relations and support roles.
“After moving to La Crosse, I was immediately drawn to Coulee Bank’s strong community focus and values that mirror my own,” she says. She also loves the people she works with. Her coworkers reflect Coulee Bank’s core values – they care deeply, serve others with kindness, and are always willing to help or adapt when needed. “It makes for such a positive and supportive place to work.”
Wettleson says there are a lot of moving parts in business banking. “It’s important that I have a strong attention to detail and stay incredibly organized to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently for our customers and our team,” she explains. Attention to detail and organization create a strong foundation for her to communicate and collaborate with her team. “Every day, there is something new to learn or improve upon, so I keep a positive mindset when working with my team,” she says.
Not only does she love the business side of working at Coulee Bank, but she also values opportunities like volunteering at the Wafer Food Pantry alongside her coworkers. “It’s always a feel-good experience, and we have fun working as a team!” she exclaims.
If you ask Wettleson about life outside of Coulee Bank, she loves to talk about her travels to national parks. “Exploring the natural beauty we have right here in the US brings me so much joy!” Most recently, she traveled to Glacier National Park with her best friend. She says the scenery was breathtaking, making it easy to slow down, explore, and make memories.
Wettleson collects stickers, and every trip to a national park means another sticker for her growing collection, which already includes Yellowstone, Redwoods, Rocky Mountain, Arches, Badlands, Canyonlands, Great Sand Dunes, and Glacier. “Each park offers something unique, and I return to homebase feeling refreshed and grateful,” she says.
When she is home, cooking ranks high on her list of things she enjoys. Experimenting with new food can be as exciting as taking in the sites of national parks. Her favorite food is pizza because of the variety – like national parks you never have the same experience twice.
