Our Privacy Principles serve as standards for all Coulee Bank employees for collection, use retention and security of individual customer information.
Protecting your privacy is important to Coulee Bank and our employees. We want you to understand what information we collect and how we use it. In order to provide our customers with a broad range of financial products and services as effectively and conveniently as possible, we use technology to manage and maintain customer information. The following policy serves as a standard for all Coulee Bank employees for collection, use, retention, and security of nonpublic personal information.
We collect, retain, and use information about you only where we reasonably believe that it will help administer our business or provide products, services, and other opportunities to you. We collect and retain information about you only for specific business purposes – and we will tell you why we are collecting and retaining it upon your request. We use information to protect and administer your records, accounts and funds; to comply with certain laws and regulations; to help us design or improve our products and services; and to understand your financial needs so that we can provide you with quality products and superior service.
The type of nonpublic personal information we may collect comes from:
- information we receive from you, on applications or other forms, such as your name, address, social security number, assets and income; and
- information regarding your transaction history with us, such as account balance, payment history, parties to transactions and credit usage; and
- information provided by others about your transactions with nonaffiliated third parties such as credit bureaus and consumer reporting agencies, regarding your creditworthiness and payment history.
We are permitted under law to share information about our experiences or transactions with you or your account (such as your account balance and your payment history with us) with companies related to us by common control or ownership (“affiliates”). We may also share additional information about your or your account (such as information we receive from you in applications and information from credit reporting agencies) with our affiliates. You may direct us not to disclose to our affiliates information that does not relate solely to our or our affiliate’s experiences or transactions with you or your account (such as the application information and credit bureau information) by calling us toll-free at 1-866-784-9550 or locally at 784-9550.
We are also permitted under law to disclose nonpublic personal information about you to “nonaffiliated third parties” (i.e. third parties that are not members of our corporate family) in certain circumstances. For example, we may disclose nonpublic personal information about you to such third parties to assist us in servicing your loan or account with us; to government entities in response to subpoenas; and to credit bureaus. We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about you to any other third parties, expect as permitted by law. If you decide to close your account(s) or become an inactive customer, we will continue to adhere to the privacy polices and practices described in this notice.
We also take steps to safeguard customer information. We restrict access to your personal and account information to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information.
When Coulee Bank conducts business with third parties, it requires its vendors and suppliers to maintain similar standards of conduct regarding the privacy of personally identifiable customer information provided to them.
Coulee Bank is committed to protecting your privacy. You can help by following these simple guidelines:
- Protect your account numbers, card numbers, PINs (personal identification numbers), and passwords. Never keep your PIN with your Check or Cash card.
- Be cautious about disclosing your account numbers, social security numbers, etc. Beware of anyone who calls you and says they represent a financial institution or credit card company you do business with, and asks for your account number or other personal information.
- Please let us know when your address or phone number changes. It is important that we have your current address, phone number, and e-mail address (if applicable) so we can reach you if we suspect fraudulent or unauthorized activity.
